MPA PAtrol Craft

A fully electric, multi-role patrol vessel

When the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore tendered for a next-generation patrol craft, the requirement was clear: multi-role capability across one of the world’s busiest maritime environments, with zero emissions.

Singapore’s harbor, rivers, and coastal waters are among the most demanding anywhere. Heavy traffic, unpredictable weather, and round-the-clock response leave no margin for compromise.
AURELIA’s answer is a purpose-built, all-electric patrol craft where every decision, from hull geometry to energy architecture, was made with Singapore’s specific conditions in mind. Performance and sustainability, without trade-off.

Designed for the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, engineered for zero-emission harbor, river, and coastal operations in one of the world’s busiest port environments.

Hull & MAterials

Engineering a cleaner path through the water
AURELIA’s proprietary Jumbo III hull sits at the heart of the design. The configuration features a narrow bow that widens into a catamaran-like flat bottom at the stern, generating a continuous turbulent layer of micro-bubbles along the hull surface. This passive air lubrication effect reduces hydrodynamic friction and delivers a 20% reduction in energy consumption compared to conventional mono-hull designs – a significant advantage for a battery-powered vessel operating extended patrol cycles.

Material selection reinforces the efficiency logic: a marine-grade aluminum alloy hull provides structural strength and is fully recyclable at end of life, while an FRP composite superstructure lowers the center of gravity, improving stability in choppy harbor conditions and reducing overall vessel weight.

Propulsion & Energy

Shaft-line propulsion
Conventional shaft-line drive selected over water jets for superior reliability in debris-laden port waters and higher efficiency at patrol speeds.

Zero operational emissions
All-electric drivetrain eliminates exhaust emissions entirely, supporting Singapore’s rigorous port air quality standards throughout all patrol phases.

SRemote & Autonomous Operations

A vessel that can operate without anyone on board
AURELIA integrates the Sea Machines SM300 system, enabling the patrol craft to be operated remotely from a shore-based command centre or to execute pre-defined autonomous patrol routes with minimal crew intervention. A 5G/SATCOM connectivity suite provides low-latency, redundant communication links, while an AI-powered sensor array encompassing radar, electro-optical cameras, and AIS integration enables real-time situational awareness and threat identification.

This capability transforms the vessel from a conventional patrol craft into a persistent, scalable maritime security asset. A single operations centre can supervise and redirect the vessel without putting crew at risk in hazardous enforcement scenarios.

Operational Roles

Border control & law enforcement
Maritime surveillance, interdiction, and smuggling disruption across Singapore’s territorial waters and port approaches.

Search and rescue (SAR)
Dedicated rescue zones, life raft capacity, and a rescue boat on board. Rapid response to persons in distress in harbour and open water.

Firefighting Fi-Fi Class 1
High-capacity monitor capable of projecting water to 120 metres, with 3 hours of continuous firefighting operation under emergency conditions.
